Donor Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 2026
Uninsured America respects the privacy of our donors. This notice explains how we handle donation information.
What we collect when you give
- In our append-only accounting ledger: the gift amount, date, and whether it is one-time or monthly. This ledger is deliberately kept free of personal contact information so it can stay tamper-evident.
- Separately, the email address provided to Stripe at checkout may be retained in a distinct, erasable record so we can send an acknowledgement. This can be deleted on request (see “Your choices”).
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never receive or store full card numbers.
How we use donor information
- To process your gift and send a receipt.
- To acknowledge your support and, if you opt in later, keep you updated.
- To meet our recordkeeping and reporting obligations.
We do not sell or trade donor data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with providers that process gifts on our behalf.
Your choices
You can request access to or deletion of your donor contact information, or ask not to be acknowledged publicly, by emailing help@uninsuredamerica.org. Your contact record is held separately from the accounting ledger specifically so it can be erased on request. Note that we may retain the non-identifying financial record (amount and date) as required for accounting and legal compliance.
Tax deductibility
Uninsured America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (owner-attested; determination letter on file). Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Keep your receipt and consult a tax advisor. EIN: Pending - to be provided by owner.
