Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Uninsured America is built privacy-first. We collect as little as possible and we never ask for health records or documents.
Information we collect
- Coverage checker: the checker runs entirely in your browser. The ZIP, age, household size, income, and coverage status you enter are used only to calculate your results on your device and are not transmitted to us or stored.
- Contact form: if you contact us, we store the name, email, optional ZIP, and message you provide so we can respond.
- Donations: payments are processed by Stripe. We record the gift amount and date in a tamper-evident, append-only ledger that contains no contact information. Any donor email is kept in a separate, erasable record. We never see or store full card numbers.
What we never collect
We do not collect protected health information (PHI), medical records, diagnoses, or health documents. Our systems have no place to store them, and we reject them at intake.
How we use information
- To respond to your messages.
- To process and acknowledge donations.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used - without identifying you.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate (for example, Stripe for payments and our email provider), and only as needed.
Your choices
You can ask us to access or delete the contact information you’ve shared by emailing help@uninsuredamerica.org.
